Minocqua has two brand new residents, and they may not be what you'd expect for a new neighbor.
The Wildwood Wildlife Park has just received two baby giraffes to add to their collection.
Twiga and Teeke are both less than a year old and just arrived Tuesday at the park from a wildlife sanctuary in Kansas.
The Wildwood Park Director says it was a long process to get their new home ready for the arrival.
"When we acquired the giraffes our maintenance crew had gone to many zoos to make sure our building is safe-proof like anything else, like you have your house safe-proofed for your children. We also had our zookeepers go and be trained at the facility in Kansas where the giraffes are from." said Director Judy Domaszek.
The giraffes came to the park as part of an initiative to bring in more animals from outside of North America.
As soon as they get more adjusted to their surroundings, the park hopes to have them on display outdoors as well.
