People living on Wausau's northeast side that could be affected by the proposed improvement to Athletic Park are invited to attend one of two meeting explaining the impacts of the renovation.
The home of the Wisconsin Woodchucks will undergo $2.7 million in repairs of which will be completed by their 2014 season.
The Marathon County Parks and Rec. Department is holding a meeting Thursday, May 16 at 6 p.m. at the Wausau Boys and Girls Club, located at 1710 2nd Street in Wausau.
The project will update the seating areas and concession stands. They will also be installing a press box as well as several luxury boxes.
According to a new release from the City of Wausau and the Woodchucks, the renovation will be paid for entirely by private funds.
The city and the Macdonald family have agreed to develop a neighborhood park adjacent to the stadium The Macdonalds will donate two residential properties along North 5th Street and $20,000 toward the development of the park.
