Snow that blanketed a portion of Wausau early Friday morning was actually due to snow canons from Rib Mountain.

According the national weather service, the only snow in Wausau was result of the snow guns.

The overnight temperature in Wausau was 26 degrees.

The snow left no real accumulation, just enough to coat the ground. The snow had melted by mid-morning.

Granite peak began using their snow guns Wednesday night with the hopes of opening five runs by Nov. 16.
