For years, getting an education involved leaving the comforts of home and heading to campus.
Now, North Central Technical College is offering virtual classes. Here's how it works, you can enroll at anytime and work at your own pace. The only stipulation is that you have to get the work done by the end of the semester. It can all be done from the comforts of home on the computer.
"If you enroll in a written communication class and you're going through the coursework and you're a working adult who has children, and you get called in for an extra shift or your child gets bronchitis, you can chose to do that class in 5 weeks, maybe 6 weeks, or maybe take a week off," says Susan Ryman, Virtual College Coordinator and Student Advisor.
But the Virtual College doesn't just offer the typical online class. Faculty are designing interactive courses. Students will watch videos, do interactive presentations, and a list of other things.
The courses offered through the Virtual College include general education classes, Business Management, and Supervisory Management. Continuing Education courses will also be offered in the coming months.
