Newschannel 7 has learned that at the time police say William Rambo killed his wife, Dawn, he was out on bond, after threatening to kill her with a knife just two weeks earlier.

According to court documents, Dawn Rambo asked William to leave the house after they got into a fight over their 11-year-old son staying out past his curfew on August 9th.

William came home a short time later, threw an ash tray at her, hit her in the head, and threatened to kill her with a knife, according to the wife's statement.

This all happened in front of the couple's 11-year-old child.

After that incident, William Rambo went to police and turned himself in. He admitted to hitting his wife, but denied threatening her with a knife.

William Rambo was charged with battery and disorderly conduct after the incident. He was released on a $500 signature bond on August 12th, and ordered not to have contact with Dawn.

Investigators say it was just 10 days later that Rambo did use a knife to kill Dawn at their home.

The Price County Clerk of Courts said Rambo is expected to be charged with homicide on October 1.

William Rambo remains in the Price County Jail on $500,000 cash bond.
