Kyle Kennedy will spend seven-and-half-years in prison and five-years on extended supervision for selling heroin to a man that overdosed minutes after the sale.

Michael Dixon, 24, crashed his car on the Thomas Street bridge on March 23, 2013. The Marathon County Medical Examiner at the time, John Larson, said Dixon's crash was due to his altered state of consciousness from the heroin. Dixon's four-year-old son was in the car and was seriously injured, but did survive.

The sentence is the result of the consolidation four Marathon County criminal cases.

Kennedy will receive credit for 234 days he has already spent in jail.

A 22-year-old Mosinee man is scheduled to be sentenced Friday for selling heroin to a man who blacked out while on the drug and died in a car crash.

The former Marathon County Medical Examiner said Michael Dixon, 24, died after crashing his car on the Thomas Street Bridge in Wausau while he was high on heroin. The accident happened March 23, 2013. The crash seriously injured Dixon's 4-year-old son.

Investigators say Kyle Kennedy sold heroin to Dixon minutes before his death.

Kennedy pleaded guilty to delivering heroin during a plea deal with prosecutors in November. As result, three counts of obstructing an officer, and four counts of bail jumping were dismissed.

The Marathon County Medical Examiner cited in this article, John Larson, retired on August 30.

A plea deal appears to be in the works for a 22-year-old Mosinee man accused of selling heroin to man who blacked out and died during a traffic accident just minutes after the alleged sale.

Kyle Kennedy is charged with manufacturing/delivering heroin, three counts of obstructing an officer, and four counts of bail jumping.

The Marathon County Medical Examiner says Michael Dixon, 24, died after crashing his car on the Thomas Street Bridge in Wausau while he was high on heroin. The accident happened March 23. The crash injured Dixon's 4-year-old son.

No other vehicles were involved.

Kennedy remains behind bars on a $50,000 cash bond.

He'll return to court on November 11.

The Mosinee man accused of selling heroin to a man who blacked out on the drug and died in a car crash has pleaded not guilty.

Kyle Kennedy, 22, appeared in Marathon County Court Monday for a preliminary hearing and arraignment. A judge ruled there was enough evidence for the case to head to trial.

Kennedy is due in court Tuesday for a clerical court proceeding.

A 22-year-old Mosinee man accused of providing heroin to man who later died in traffic accident, made his initial appearance Friday in Marathon County Court.

Kyle Kennedy is charged with delivery of heroin, two counts of obstructing an officer and four counts of bail jumping.

Investigators says Kennedy sold heroin to Michael Dixon just 16 minutes before his death.

Dixon was involved in a single vehicle accident on March 23. Dixon was high on heroin, and not conscious at the time of the crash. He died from a head injury.

According to the criminal complaint, after the fatal accident, officers located Dixon's phone. A test message from Kyle Kennedy is what spurred the investigation.

Surveillance video later obtained from FastBreak Mobile on Thomas Street shows Dixon pulling into the parking lot on March 23. A man identified by police as Kennedy is seen getting into Michael Dixon's car. He exits about three minutes later.

The fatal accident happened that same afternoon.

Kennedy remains behind bars on a $500,000 cash bond and will return to court on June 24.

A 22-year-old Mosinee man is expected to be charged in connection to fatal accident that left one person dead, and another seriously injured.

According to the Wausau Police Department, Kyle Kennedy was arrested Wednesday after police believed he provided heroin to Michael Dixon.

The Marathon County Medical Examiner says Dixon, 24, died after crashing his car on the Thomas Street Bridge in Wausau while he was high on heroin. The accident happened March 23. The crash injured Dixon's 4-year-old son.

No other vehicles were involved.

Kennedy is expected to be charged with delivery of heroin, obstructing an officer, and bail jumping. He'll make his initial appearance Friday in Marathon County Court.
