More Trouble for Target; Some Gift Cards Not Properly Funded

Target has issued an apology to thousands of customers after some the gift cards sold at the retail giant appear to have not been properly funded.

Target says it will honor the defective cards without a receipt.

TV station KMSP in Minneapolis reported that up to 40,000 cards could be affected, citing an unnamed source.

The company says the gift card issue is unrelated to a company-wide breach that exposed the credit and debit card numbers of more than 40 million accounts.
