SPARTA, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities in southwestern Wisconsin say a driver is dead after his car crossed the center line and collided head-on with another vehicle. A 10-year-old is in critical condition.
Monroe County deputies say the driver was a 77-year-old from Buffalo, Minnesota. He was driving Saturday about 3:30 p.m. when his Honda Accord went over the center line in the Town of Byron.
One driver swerved to avoid him and ended up in a ditch. The Accord then collided with another vehicle.
The Accord driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 10-year-old in his car was taken to a hospital.
Authorities haven't released the driver's name.
