MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The total number of people hit by gunfire over the last few days in Milwaukee has reached at least 10, with three of them killed.

The most recent shootings happened overnight Friday, leaving one person dead and four wounded, including a 16-year-old girl.

Milwaukee police said officers were called to the north side at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, where a 27-year-old man died at the scene.

Shortly before that, a 51-year-old man was shot in an apparent robbery attempt in an alley. Police didn't think his injuries were life-threatening.

Also Friday, a 16-year-old girl was hit while sitting inside her home at about 9:40 p.m. but is expected to recover. Police are investigating the circumstances that led to that shooting.
