A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday morning to celebrate the start of construction on the new Mid-State Technical College campus in Stevens Point.
MSTC will renovate the west wing, or the JC Penney side of the Centerpoint Mall and the city will tear down the rest, reconnecting Third Street which is currently blocked off by part of it. Mid-state plans to move in by January of 2014.
The school will move from their current location on Michigan Avenue. Mid-State also has locations in Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids and Adams.
