An 18-year-old Merrill woman is expected to be charged with theft after the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department said she admitted to stealing lottery tickets from the gas station she worked at.
An investigation began after the gas station found that employee's nightly reports showed inaccuracies.
The woman met with a deputy and admitted stealing the lottery tickets while she worked and scratching them off and redeeming the winning tickets. Investigators say the thefts occurred during the first week of July and after an audit it was determined over $1,300 in tickets were taken.
The gas stationed said they terminated the woman the week before.
