UPDATE: Walworth Co. Woman Charged in Fatal Fall Ride Crash

A 50-year-old Walworth County woman accused of killing a motorcyclist when she drove her motorcycle while intoxicated will return to court in January to learn if her case will head to trial.

Lynette Haman is charged with two county of homicide related to drunk driving. Online court records also show she was cited with 1st offense operating while intoxicated.

Haman did not appear in court due to injuries sustained the crash, however, her attorney appeared by phone.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Department said the crash happened Sept. 13 around 10 p.m. On County Highway L and Prairie Rapids Road, nine miles north of Tomahawk. Authorities Lynette Haman was traveling south on County Road L when she made a left turn in front of a northbound motorcycle operated by Benjamin Guite, Sr.,.

The crash happened during the weekend of the annual Fall Ride in Tomahawk.

Guite died from his injuries on September 18.

Haman is expected to be in court January 9 for a preliminary hearing. Haman is free on a $15,000 signature bond.

Homicide charges have now been filed against a 50-year-old Walworth County woman accused of driving drunk on her motorcycle when she struck and killed another motorcyclist.

The crash happened during the weekend of the annual Fall Ride in Tomahawk.

Haman is expected to be formally charge November 18.

ORIGINAL STORY: Wed 4:59 PM, Sept. 18, 2013

A 50-year-old Merrill man has died following a traffic accident last week.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Department, EMS crews responded to a motorcycle crash involving two cycles on at County Highway L and Prairie Rapids Road, nine miles north of Tomahawk. The crash happened just before 10 p.m. on Sept. 13.

Authorities said a motorcycle operated by Lynette Haman, 49, of Elkhorn, was traveling south on County Road L when she made a left turn in front of a northbound motorcycle operated by Benjamin Guite, Sr.,.

Haman was transported to Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield due to injuries she received in the accident and Guite was transported to Aspirus Hospital in Wausau.

Guite died from his injuries on September 18.

Online court records show Haman was cited with her first OWI. It is unknown if Haman will face greater charges in lieu of Guite's death.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and Oneida County Medical Examiner are continuing their investigation into this crash.
