Merrill students had the day off from school Monday so for an activity, the T.B. Scott Library hosted a unique craft event.
Students were taught how to use duct tape to decorate book covers and were also got a lesson in how to make duct tape hats, cell phone covers and other creations.
"We find this so valuable that we have a program like this for teens because they don't have a lot of chance to do craft activities," said Linda Schuster, who heads the library's youth services.
She says the response was overwhelming, which is good because while they're at the library kids will likely check out materials.
The library also has a craft weekend planned for Dec. 8-9. The theme is a green and gold celebration ahead of Aaron Rodgers Day on 12/12/12.
