Temperatures hovered in the 20's on Friday, but the good news is that warmer weather is on the way.
Wisconsinites celebrated their love for tasty treats with the opening of Belts' Soft Serve in Stevens Point.
"After 20 years and I'm finally here on the first day!" exclaimed Emily Glinski, who eagerly waited in line with friends.
However, the first day of March isn't just about ice cream. Down the road from Belts,' "spring green" arrangements were being prepped at Zurawski's Floral.
"Right now, a lot of the colors that people want are green" says Elizabeth Zurawski, owner of the store. "They want that vivid, neon green that reminds them of grass and leaves on the trees."
Spring fashion are also on display at area stores. Bathing suits and Easter outfits are selling fast at the Stevens Point Target.
"Swimwear in a college town like Stevens Point is a huge seller," says Lois Watson, an executive team leader. "Spring break is at the end of March so we're seeing a lot of people trying on swimsuits to see what they're going to fit into by the time they get to spring break."
