Students at St. Mary's School in Marathon spent part of their Friday making a difference, by jumping rope.
The event raises awareness and money for the American Heart Association.
But they weren't just hopping, skipping or jumping for everyone who has a heart condition, but for two of their classmates.
"We have two children that have heart conditions in our school, one is Dalton Lang in second grade, and one is Alex Volm in eighth grade, and we were thinking about doing something for cancer, but Dalton we found out had a heart condition and we knew Alex had one so we decided to raise funds for the American Heart," says Val Kind, a first grade teacher at St. Mary's.
And ask either one of them and they'll tell you, it means a lot knowing the students are jumping rope for them.
"It's really cool to have that feeling that so many people want to do this for us, it's cool because then it helps out the Heart Association to find more research," says Alex Volm.
"Thank you for jumping for everybody who has heart problems," says Dalton Lang.
The students raised more than $2,000 for not just Alex and Dalton, but for everyone who has a heart condition.
