One of five suspects charged in the fatal heroin overdose death of a Mosinee man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and 10 years extended supervision.
Tyshun Meeks, 27, was scheduled for a jury trial on Monday, however that hearing was changed to a plea and sentencing hearing, according to online court records.
Investigators say Meeks sold heroin to 26-year-old Justin Selves last August. Selves was later found dead of an overdose. Reports show Meeks knew of Selves' overdose and used that information to sell more drugs based on the heroin's potency.
Monday's sentencing did not include two of Meeks more severe charges of 1st degree reckless homicide and manufacturing heroin. According to online court records, sentencing for those charges has been postponed for a later date.
Meeks will received credit for the 489 days he has already spent in jail.
