Marathon Man Gets 18-Year Sentence for Robbery Conviction

A Marathon man will spend 18-years in prison for robbing a Weston couple at knife point in their home.

Online court records say 23-year-old Sean Stankowski was sentenced Tuesday (12/10/13) in Marathon County court.

He pleaded guilty to robbery, burglary, bail jumping and battery in October.

Police say Stankowski robbed the couple at after asking to use their phone in 2009.

It lead to a manhunt that lasted for about an hour until Stankowski went to a different home and asked to come in and warm up. Police were called to that home and he surrendered.

A charge of burglary was dismissed against an alleged accomplice. Online court records show she did plead guilty to theft and bail jumping. Those same records show she was sentenced to 3 years probation and given a stayed sentence of 6-months in jail for any rules violations.
