WAUSAU – The Marathon County Public Library now has a free mobile app for Android devices and Apple iPhones/iPads.

Patrons can check their accounts, reserve items, search the catalog, download ebooks through Overdrive, check our events calendar and view our Facebook and Twitter feeds. The app also features an ISBN barcode search with which people can scan a barcode of a book and see if it is available at the library.

“Each day more people turn to technology to enhance their daily experiences,” said Ralph Illick, Marathon County Public Library director. “We believe that those who choose to use apps will be thrilled with being able to access library resources or check their library accounts on the go at any time, from any location.”

The app went live on Sept. 24, 2012, and was developed through Boopsie, a California-based mobile software developer. The app is downloadable on mobile devices including Android, Blackberry, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, J2ME, Palm, Symbian and Windows Mobile.
