Three people are facing drug charges in Marathon County after a bust Wednesday netting $13,000 worth of cocaine and heroin.
According to the Marathon County Sheriff's Department, a vehicle was stopped on I-39 for traffic violation.
Officer seized a total of 16 grams of heroin with a street value of $8,000, and a total of 55 grams of crack and powder cocaine with a street value of $5,500 were seized.
The driver of the vehicle, a 50-year old Chicago area man, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and his passenger, a 31-year old Chicago area man, was arrested for possession of heroin with intent to deliver and possession of crack and powder cocaine with intent to deliver. A female passenger, a 27-year old Wausau woman, was also detained and will be referred for charges.
The drugs were located concealed in various parts of the subjects’ body.
The suspects are expected to be charged Friday.
The arrests are result of action from the SIU, which is comprised of officers from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, along with Wausau and Everest Metro Police Departments.
