Wood County Deputies and Wisconsin Rapids police saved a man who jumped off the Jackson Street Bridge in Wisconsin Rapids.
It happened around 11:45 PM Saturday night. Officers and bystanders were able to locate the male subject clinging to a rock wall under the bridge.
A rope was dropped down for the man to hang on to until a rescue boat was able to make it to the scene. He was taken out of the water.
The male subject was treated and released from Riverview Hospital and then transported to a mental health facility.
Wisconsin Rapids Police and Fire departments assisted, along with the Wood County Sheriff's Department, and Wood County Rescue.
