Man Found Dead Under Straw at Calumet Co. Dairy Farm

Calumet County authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found buried beneath straw at a dairy farm in the Town of Brothertown in eastern Wisconsin.

Lt. Ken Matuszak of the Calumet County Sheriff's Department tells the Appleton Post-Crescent that individuals on the farm contacted police just after 3 p.m. Friday when they discovered the body in a part of a barn where hay is stored.

Matuszak says it appeared the man was moving straw when it collapsed on top of him. It's unknown how long he was buried. Other individuals began looking for the man when they noticed an unmanned tractor still running in the yard.

Autopsy results were pending. The man's name was withheld until family members could be notified.
