TOWN OF MENASHA, Wis. -- A Town of Menasha man is charged with causing fatal injuries to his fiancee's 3-year-old daughter.
Twenty-six-year-old Ryan Jorgensen is charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the child's death. A criminal complaint says Jorgenson called 911 on May 14 and said the toddler fell down some stairs and suffered a seizure. Paramedics called police because of the severity of the child's injuries. The girl died at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin May 21.
WLUK-TV reports bond was set Wednesday at $250,000. Winnebago County District Attorney Scott Ceman says there was a pattern of physical and verbal abuse by Jorgenson that ultimately led to the child's death.
Jorgenson's attorney did not immediately return a call for comment.
