MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Court records show a man who held Madison police at bay for 13 hours has a lengthy criminal record.
Steven Boyle, 51, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday after a standoff at a home on the city's west side. Police spokesman Joel DeSpain tells WKOW-TV officers were called to the house after family members told authorities the man had made threats to hurt others. Relatives said the man might be armed.
Police negotiators spent Monday trying to make contact with the man. Records show Boyle has felony and misdemeanor convictions in Dane County dating back to the early 1990s, including child abuse and false imprisonment.
