The Milwaukee man accused of slipping the date-rape drug into a Wisconsin Rapids bartender's drink will remain in Wood County jail.
50 year old Michael Shanahan appeared in court today.
He's charged with one count of placing a foreign object in an edible as well as multiple other bail jumping charges.
Prosecutors say they take any case of alleged date rape seriously, because it is important to keep the public safe.
"We want to make sure that people are protected. We certainly don't want people preying upon innocent people who are simply trying to live their lives. " said Wood County Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Constable.
The criminal complaint says there is surveillance video from the bar showing Shanahan near the victim's drink at the time the incident was said to have happened.
If convicted he could face up to three years in prison.
