During the summertime many of us like to fire up the grill and make burgers and we have just the recipe for you to try. Chef Dave Alter with Sweet & Savoury in Wausau showed us how to make Pimento Cheese Burgers and I can tell you they taste fantastic!
4 oz shredded sharp cheddar
2 tablespoons pimento (finely chopped)
½ teaspoon of dry mustard
pepper to taste
1 ½ tablespoon of mayonnaise
Mix ingredients with spatula until they hold together
Next, make a beef hamburger patty. Add the pimento-cheese on top the burger and place another hamburger patty on top, creating a stuffed burger.
To add more flavor, Chef Dave Alter suggests melting butter in a skillet then cooking the burger in the pan once it is melted.
Cook the burger in the pan until it has grill marks, then place it in the oven for 10 minutes at 400 degrees- a secret he says helps keep the burger juicy.
