Neighbors and gun lovers in southern Wisconsin are clashing over a makeshift shooting range.
Gun enthusiasts have been using the parking lot at the Swan Lake State Wildlife Area in the rural town of Pacific as a shooting range for years.
But neighbors in a nearby subdivision say they've had enough of shooters firing away almost every day from dawn to dusk, sending stray rounds into their neighborhood and leaving behind trash.
They want the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to ban shooting on all public land in Columbia County. The agency won't do it, choosing instead to look to build a public shooting range.
Gun enthusiasts say the neighbors shouldn't have built their homes so close to the parking lot.
