Last year the chair lifts and ski slopes were all but abandoned by this late in the season, however this year it is a much different story at Granite Peak. Its something that has skiers thrilled.
"Its fun being able to ski in April. Last year they closed earlier. So its fun to be out here in April." said skier Beau Lindner
As the ski season winds to a close today, management says they have been thrilled with the turnout they have seen this season. As the snow slowly melts all around her, Granite Peak Employee Lisa Liesenfelder reflects on a stellar year.
"It has been an excellent season. Last year we had to close three weeks earlier. So, this year its really nice to make it to our closing date." Liesenfelder said.
With cool temperatures remaining in the forecast, skiers here are one group of people you won't find complaining about the cold. While today marked the last official day of the season, the park does plan to open up next Saturday for one final chance for people to hit the slopes.
