The Senior Home Safety Program helps elderly residents make minor home safety repairs for free.
It's part of the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin and offers help to homeowners over the age of 60 who meet certain income requirements.
Typical projects include fixing stair railings and treads, installing hand-held shower heads, putting in grab bars and hand rails, along with tacking down loose flooring.
Temporary ramps are available, but they cost $15/month.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, you can call the toll free number for more information. It's 1-888-486-9545.
You can call that same number if you are interested in helping or making a donation.
