Local Wisconsin Farm Bureau Members (WFB) are grouping together to help organize a benefit for the South Dakota Cares Program. This event is part of a larger effort to help raise awareness and funds for the families affected by the blizzard that hit South Dakota last fall.

The blizzard often referred to as “Atlas” killed over 24,000 head of livestock including sheep and horses. Leaving farmers and ranchers with a huge financial burden. Beth Schaefer, co-chair of the benefit, stated: “Many people figure all the ranchers had insurance, when in fact they may or may not have,” she said. Though coverage for blizzard incidents is available, it tends to be an add-on that some producers find too expensive. The idea to host a benefit to help local ranchers came from a discussion with other WFB members.

The event will take place Saturday, February 22nd at Dale’s Weston Lanes, Weston, WI. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. and a steak dinner will be served until 7:00 p.m. From 8:00 p.m. – Midnight Tuscan Road, will take the stage.

Advance dinner and package tickets are available for the event. Steak dinner tickets are $15 and include steak, sides and dessert. Concert tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. A $25 package including steak dinner, concert and 2 complimentary drinks are also available for advance purchase and will be available at the door.

Raffles featuring gun, and wood pellet grill, and much more, will be taking place all night long. All proceeds will go to the South Dakota Farm Bureau Cares Fund to help ranch families impacted by the October Atlas blizzard.
