A 47-year-old La Crosse County man has died after crashing his fuel tanker early Wednesday morning.
The Wood County Sheriff's Department say the Kwik Trip tanker had a full load of fuel when the driver, Rodney Koenemann failed to negotiate a curve on Highway A near Park Lane and rolled over. Koenemann died as result of the crash.
The crash happen around 2 a.m., but scene isn't expect to be cleared until 11 a.m. Drivers are asked to avoid Highway A between Highway N and Highway C at this time.
Authorities say a minimal amount of fuel was spilled. Kwik Trip is loading the fuel to another tanker. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has been notified of the spill.
