APPLETON, Wis. (AP) -- A Little Chute man who was stopped for speeding and who later tried to outrun a trooper has been arrested on a tentative charge of sixth-offense drunken driving.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says a trooper stopped the 52-year-old Friday about 8:30 p.m. As the trooper walked up to the vehicle, the man allegedly fled in his vehicle.

The trooper followed the man to the man's home, where the suspect allegedly took off running. The trooper was able to subdue him until other officers arrived.

The man is being held in the Outagamie County Jail on tentative charges of sixth-offense drunken driving, resisting an officer and fleeing an officer.
