The Lincoln County Sheriff is reminding residents who are planning spring clean-ups to properly dispose of their trash.

Now that snow has melted away, garbage dumps are starting to appear on the side of the roadway. One case in Harrison Hills was turned over to the DNR after numerous bags of garbage were found. Also, this past week a Town of Scott man was cited for trespassing after a neighbor found over 50 car tires on his land.

If your waste is larger than curbside pick-up allows, the Lincoln County Solid Waste Landfill is located off County Rd. R in the Town of Merrill. Starting on Thursday, the landfill will switch to summer hours and will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and also on the first and third Saturday's from 8:00 AM until noon.
