Some State Legislators from the area are hoping to reverse the State’s decision to go with a single vendor system in the Student Information Software industry.
The bill introduced yesterday would create a multi-vendor system. The authors, Senator Julie Lassa (D) and Representative Katrina Shankland (D) introduced the bills in both the Senate and Assembly.
They want to let schools make their own decisions about which program to use.
Rep. Katrina Shankland told us, “This will allow more local control to the school districts to decide for themselves which vendor they want to have.”
Stevens Point basked Skyward says that if the State does go through with a single vendor system, they will leave.
The company that got the contract, Infinite Campus, says it got the deal because it met the State’s criteria.
