It's a been a rough weekend weather-wise for the University of Wisconsin Mens baseball team.
Saturday's game against UW-Superior was canceled due to the rain and Monday one of the players spend the day cleaning snow out of the cages.
The mildly-warm weather last week offered promise that the field could be in game condition shortly, however that doesn't appear to be the case.
Senior catcher Harry Steldt says the team started practicing in February, and hoped they'd soon be outside.
“Last week was great. Even with a little rain, we did a little field work, but still we got the field to be playable but with the snow it takes a little more effort to get it all cleared off,” explains Steldt.
The team's head coach says it takes a toll on his players.
Not focused as much on the baseball as much as you are just trying to hope that you can play,” said head coach, Pat Bloom.
The Pointer's next home game is Saturday, April 26.
