Langlade Co. Investigating Suspected Drowning

The Langlade County Sheriff's Department says a 24-year-old Appleton man has died of an apparent drowning near Elcho.

According to a press release, crews responded to Deep Wood Lake in the Town of Upham in northern Langlade County around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Dive crews searched until dark and the search was suspended until morning.

The man's body was found around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The man's name is not being released at this time. The cause of the drowning is still under investigation.
