GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Lambeau Field officials plan to maintain a weapons ban when the state's new concealed carry law takes effect next week.
In a statement, Packers' head of security Doug Collins says they won't allow weapons in the stadium or parking lot. People with proper permits can leave them locked in their vehicle.
The law takes effect Tuesday. Under it, people can apply for a permit to carry concealed handguns, knives or electronic weapons. Businesses may prohibit concealed weapons on their property.
Packers' spokesman Aaron Popkey says fans should notice little difference beyond the signs explaining the ban.
Green Bay Police Lt. Kevin Warych says a violator could be arrested and cited for trespassing, which includes a $177 fine. But he says it's based on an officer's discretion.
