UPDATE: Ladysmith H.S. Teacher Accused of Kicking Student Resigns

A high school technology education teacher facing disorderly conduct charges for allegedly kicking a student earlier this month has resigned.

According to WEAU-TV, 53-year-old Larry Weissinger, a teacher at Ladysmith High School, allegedly kicked a 17-year-old boy in the backside during a class on January 6.

Ladysmith Police Chief, Al Lobermeier, told WEAU the two also yelled at each other after the incident. The student was not cited.

The board of education approved his resignation Wednesday night.

Prior to Weissinger’s resignation, he was on leave without pay.

A court date is set for Feb. 14.

It used to be parents backed the teacher. Then the parent told you wait until you get home. If you feel the teacher was forceful, we were told you wait until we are home. Was I ever beatin? NO! NEVER! Was I ever reprimanded? YOU BET! Not minor, but it fit the problem I caused. Note the ones I caused! Did I forget, probably not as I remember today what respect is. Elders at one time were respected. Something most CHILDREN and MOST PARENTS have no idea what it is. You feel we have crossed the line in the sand? No wonder we have the problems we do.

Professionals of any kind do not have the right to kick other people and they never did. Now its ok to get high, kick people, and have sex with kids in the minds of these 'adults'. Yup, those are real adult role models for ya. Then you wonder why the kids are goofy.

Lots of kids (not all) do not have manners or respect for adults ---- but ---- no teacher/Adult has the right to kick any student.

Tell that to the other posters. Apparently its good conduct to kick other people, even if they are acting like brats. Maybe I should go around kicking self righteous looking people. It doesn't matter how they really are, I can just kick them because they look like some kind of smart aleck.

There are way to many of these students who deserve a real kick in the ***. Those who do not believe this, why not attend a school sports function. Why not view them at a Mall. View them at a resturant or fast food place. You will see the type of children we have developed as a "spare the rod and spoil the child". I am glad I would not have to provide a living by dealing with the amount of low lifes, which includes the derelic parents! PARENTS YOU ARE TO BLAME!

Another example of a teacher living up to a higher standard...at least there wasn't drugs involved like here in Antigo.

I attended LHS years ago. So of course I was interested in the story. Times have changed. Parents are forced to become 2 income families. Noone is around to see the kids grown up with morals and respect. I think IF this teacher kicked this student in the rump. It was because this student DESERVED it!
