A high school technology education teacher facing disorderly conduct charges for allegedly kicking a student earlier this month has resigned.
According to WEAU-TV, 53-year-old Larry Weissinger, a teacher at Ladysmith High School, allegedly kicked a 17-year-old boy in the backside during a class on January 6.
Ladysmith Police Chief, Al Lobermeier, told WEAU the two also yelled at each other after the incident. The student was not cited.
The board of education approved his resignation Wednesday night.
Prior to Weissinger’s resignation, he was on leave without pay.
A court date is set for Feb. 14.
