Lac du Flambeau Tribal President Defeated during Primary Election

The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians have announced the results of their primary election. Polls were open from 10 a.m. to 8 pm. at William Wildcat, Sr. Community council room on Sept 2.

Incumbent President Tom Maulson was defeated by Henry 'Butch' St. Germaine, Sr. and Joseph G. Wildcat, Sr. Voters will decide who will be tribal president during the October 7 general election. Incumbent Vice President Mike Allen, Sr. and Melissa Christensen defeated Ruben (Wayman) Santiesteban. Tribal members will also vote for four council members.

Elections are held every October for two officer positions and four members of the council. Two-year terms are staggered.
