Reports are that Packers linebacker Clay Matthews will miss one month with a broken thumb, and will likely need surgery. The Packers are hopeful it isn't a season-ending injury.
The story was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Head coach Mike McCarthy held his day-after press conference late this afternoon, but it was before the news broke that Matthews would be out an extended period of time.
McCarthy said the injury occurred on his sack of Lions QB Matthew Stafford on the last play of the 3rd quarter.
The Packers' next 4 games are against the Ravens, Browns, Vikings and Bears.
We'll have more info as it becomes available.
