A 19-year-old Wausau woman accused of having sex with a Kronenwetter Police Officer in exchange for money told investigators one of the alleged incidents occurred at the Kronenwetter Police Department, according to court documents.

Destinee Doonan, 19, and Jason Rasmussen, 41, are both facing three misdemeanor counts of prostitution. Rasmussen facing an additional count of encouraging a probation violation.

Doonan spoke with Wausau Police April 8 during an unrelated complaint and said she had been having an ongoing prostitution relationship with a Kronenwetter Police Officer named Jason Rasmussen.

The Wausau Police Department handled the investigation and said they were able to verify information from Doonan's allegations.

The two other sexual encounters took place at Doonan's home, according to statements she made to police.

Rasmussen is on paid leave during the investigation.

No future court dates have yet been set for either party.

A special prosecutor has been appointed to handle the case against Kronenwetter Police Officer accused of hiring a prostitute.

According to a press release, the investigation began on April 8 when a woman, who identified herself as a prostitute, said Jason Rasmussen, a Kronenwetter Police Officer was her client.

Rasmussen is on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Online court records show Langlade County District Attorney, Ralph Uttke will handle the case.

Three misdemeanor charges of prostitution and one count of encouraging a parole violation were filed against Rasmussen, Friday.

A detective from the Wausau Police Department said statements gathered by the Wausau Police Department indicated that at least two additional counts of soliciting a prostitute took place in Brown County; indicating criminal charges could also be filed there.

No future court dates have yet been set.

A Kronenwetter Police Officer arrested by the Wausau Police Department April 10 on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute could face the same charge in Brown County after allegations a crime was also committed there.

According to a press release, the investigation began on April 8 when a woman, who identified herself as a prostitute, said Jason Rasmussen was her client. Rasmussen is on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Investigators confirmed some of the details the woman provided and arrested Rasmussen on April 10.

Rasmussen is not in custody at this time. Criminal charges have not yet been filed, however, the Wausau Police Department is recommending that he be charged with three counts of soliciting of prostitute and encouraging a probation violation

According to a press release, the investigation began on April 8 when a woman, who identified herself as a prostitute, said Jason Rasmussen was her client.

Investigators confirmed some of the details the woman provided and arrested Rasmussen on April 10.

Rasmussen is not in custody at this time. Criminal charges have not yet been filed, however, the Wausau Police Department is recommending that he be charged with solicitation of prostitute and encouraging a probation violation.

Kronenwetter Police Chief Dan Joling says officer Jason Rasmussen is on administrative leave and an investigation is underway. Other than that, Joling had no comment.

He did not say if the leave was paid or unpaid or if the investigation was being done within his department or by an outside source.

A Kronenwetter police officer is expected to be charged with soliciting a prostitute.

A press release from the Wausau Police Department says 41-year-old Jason Rasmussen is accused of soliciting a prostitute and encouraging probation violations.

The arrest happened around 6 p.m. Thursday evening.

The release doesn't specify how the arrest was made and says that's all the information that will be released at this time.

According to the Kronenwetter Department's website, Rasmussen was hired as a part time patrol officer in 2006 and promoted to full time in 2007.

We tried, but were unable to get a hold of the Kronenwetter Chief to find out his employment status after the arrest.
