A 58-year-old Kronenwetter man is charged with mistreating an animal resulting in death after he's accused of shooting and killing his cat for peeing on a rug.

According to the court documents, officers responded to a home on Bluejay Lane for a domestic disturbance.

When they arrived they learned the homeowner, later identified as Patrick Wolf, was in possession of several firearms. Wolf may not own a gun because he is a convicted felon.

Officers also discovered earlier in the day Wolf used one of the the guns to kill a cat in his garage. A witness said there was blood all over the garage and on Wolf's shoes.

The witness thought Wolf may have also killed another cat that had been missing for about a month.

Patrick Wolf is free on a $2,000 signature bond. He'll return to court October 2.
