Central Wisconsin's Komen Race for the Cure will be here before we know it. It's Sunday, August 12th in downtown Wausau's 400 block.
They're expecting several thousand people to run/walk to raise money for breast cancer research.
Last year, they raised about $225,00 and nearly 75% of that stays in our community to help local women and their families.
It's clearly a large undertaking and requires many volunteers to make it happen. They are in need of 300 people to help out, doing everything from setting up, to registering runners to helping hand out water during the race.
Volunteers are needed from Thursday, August 9th through Sunday, August 12th.
