KIEL, Wis. (AP) -- A Kiel native who was serving in the Army in Kosovo has died.

Scott Ruh tells WLUK-TV his 33-year-old daughter Sgt. Heidi Ruh died Friday.

Ruh says officers came to his town of Newton home Friday afternoon with the news, but they offered few details.

Joe Garvey, a spokesman with U.S. Army Europe, says her cause of death and circumstances are still under investigation.

Ruh says his daughter had been in the Army for 11 years and was based out of Fort Hood, Texas. She worked in a medical unit, repairing surgical machines and volunteered to go to Kosovo in February.

The family plans a public memorial service once her body returns to the area.

Besides her parents, Ruh is also survived by two sons, ages 8 and 11.
