Families are invited to celebrate Fire Prevention Month with a firefighter story time Saturday, October 13 at the Marathon County Public Library, 300 N. First Street in Wausau.

Library staff will read firefighter-themed stories at 10:30 am in the story room. Following the story, firefighters will talk to children about fire safety and show kids the gear they wear to fight fires. Families also can do firefighting crafts and explore a Wausau fire truck and ambulance.

The event is free and open to the public. No registration is necessary.
