Kids ages four to nine-years-old are invited to Marathon Park in Wausau on Saturday, November 2nd beginning at 11:00 a.m. for a Try Hockey for Free clinic to experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basics of the sport in a fun, safe environment.
“We look forward to introducing new families to our sport,” said Marathon County Youth Hockey President Bruce Leopold. “To help keep costs reasonable for parents, we’ve incorporated programs to provide first-year players with equipment for the season.” There will be free equipment for all players to use who enter the MCYH mini-mite program with the exception of skates and a stick. In addition, all Marathon County Youth Hockey registration fees are waved for all first year skaters.
In addition to Wausau, Try Hockey for Free is also offered in Antigo, Merrill, Medford, Shawano, Wisconsin Rapids, Park Falls, Waupaca, and Tomahawk.
