SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) -- Prosecutors are recommending minimal jail time and probation for a 76-year-old Wisconsin woman accused of killing her infant daughter nearly 56 years ago.
Sheboygan County District Attorney Joe De Cecco is asking a judge to approve a deal that would give Ruby Klokow 45 days in jail and 10 years probation in the death of her 6-month-old daughter. De Cecco says Klokow's advanced age and health are factors in the deal.
Klokow was charged with second-degree murder after her son, James Klokow Jr., came forward in 2008 with horrific stories of childhood abuse.
A criminal complaint says Ruby Klokow admitted causing the baby's death.
A judge was to consider the plea agreement Monday.
