The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department wants to know if anyone noticed a fire, possibly from a burn barrel, between 4 and 7 a.m. near County Road M or Wegner Road in Merrill on Friday, April 26.

April 26 is the day Anita Bucki was reported missing by her husband Mark Bucki, 49, who is now charged in her death. The Buckis lived on Wegner Road.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have been traveling in the area during the early hours that morning, but specifically those who may have seen a fire.

Anyone with information should contact the sheriff's office at 715-536-6272 or the Crime Stoppers of Lincoln County at 715-536-3726.

The body of Anita Bucki, 48, was found with multiple stab wounds and bruises on her neck and throat in a swampy area of Taylor County on May 10th.

Bucki's husband, Mark, was a suspect since she was reported missing and was arrested after her body was discovered.

According to court records, investigators found blood on Bucki's boots, jeans and a hat, as well as on the living room floor.

Cadaver dogs picked up a scent on his pickup truck, the shower in their home, and a burn barrel outside.

Bucki is charged with first degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse and strangulation. He's being held in Lincoln County Jail on a $2 million bond. He will have a preliminary hearing on July 25 at 10 a.m.
