Authorities say a 42-year-old inmate who escaped from the jail Friday afternoon has now been apprehended without incident.
The sheriff's office says Allan Koskela was painting in the work-release portion of the jail when he went through a door that leading into an outdoor recreation area and scaled a retaining wall.
Koskela was taken into custody around 5:15 pm on Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids. A Wood County Sheriff's Deputy tells NewsChannel 7 Koskela tried to cash a check at a Wisconsin Rapids store. Once he left, the employee called police. Police tracked him to a residence in Wisconsin Rapids.
