The Ice Age National Scenic Trail bridge over Sailor Creek is closed indefinitely for repairs.

The bridge is located in the Medford Ranger District in Taylor County. The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest issued the closure order due to the bridge’s instability.

While repairs are underway, a segment of the trail between Forest Road 576 north past the bridge site to the intersection with Forest Road 571 is closed. The trail is temporarily rerouted along Forest Roads 576 and 571.

The remainder of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail remains open.

The closure order and the temporary reroute will remain in effect until the bridge is repaired.
