It's the 64th year for the Wausau Area 4th of July Celebration. This year's festival featured kiddy rides, plenty of food and a different live performance every night.
And while it's been going on for decades, this is the third year Duncan Jacobson and his father Lloyd say they've came to Marathon Park to celebrate Independence Day.
"I usually look forward to doing the games so I can win, get tickets and win prizes," said Jacobson.
Hundreds flock to the Wausau Area 4th of July Festival every year.
Deanne Madison, chairperson for the event, said, "There are a lot of people that are excited for our event, and they come out year after year we see a lot of the same smiling faces."
A big chunk of the proceeds made this weekend are donated to local charities like the Marathon County Human Society, the YMCA and Neighbors' Place. Madison says the Jaycees usually donate between $5,000 and $10,000, depending on what they make at the event.
Tonight ends with a free fireworks show in the grand stands of Marathon Park, and weekend festivities end Sunday afternoon.
